Mumbai: The second edition of the Mumbai Harbour regatta was a fiercely fought battle in 9 different classes of boats. The event grew bigger this year with races being conducted on two separate courses.

Gulshan Chunekar led his team to victory, fighting till the last race in the seabird class. Sailing very consistently throughout the series, he didn’t allow his boat’s extremely low handicap to affect his position. In the Lightning class, Brijraj Verma with his all Navy crew took the title.

Prasad Shelar and Suraj Singh of IWSA dominated the 420 class completely by winning all six races, leaving no scope for their competitors from AYN.

It was a close series in the 470 class with 3 boats tied for the first place till the second last race. Nitin J and Jitender Kumar (AYN) took the title by winning the last race.

In laser radial, Ramesh Kumar finished first while Vikram Mahapatra finished second overall. In Laser standard, Jasvir Singh and B K Rout finished first and second respectively.
