Ramachandran Mahesh - Jeanneau Sailor of the month

11 time National Match Racing Champion Ramachandran Mahesh won the YAI National Squad Selection Trial 2012 with a fantastic 3-2 win over Nitin Mongia in the finals.

He lead the last deciding match of the finals right from the start and left no scope for Nitin Mongia to get anywhere close.

Time after time Mahesh has proved why he is the best ranked match racer in Asia and has managed to prove his critics wrong.

Many would say that Ramachandran Mahesh’s time left at the top is limited. However, he is in fact still doing first class racing and is just as good as ever. It still is hard to count the Pilot out of the finals. He still manages to not surprise everyone winning titles after titles.

Everybody knows Mahesh can still pull major wins and here are essentially three reasons why he soon will.

3 Signs He’s Back at His Best on Water

Momentum from 2011:
Although 2011 was known for being Ayaz Shaikh’s best Match Racing year, Mahesh also ended his year in style and success. Starting after his finals loss at the YAI trials, he went on to win his record 11th National Match Racing title and ended 2011 as the best ranked Match Racer in Asia.

He Is Motivated to remain No.1 in the Rankings
Though he did not produce his best results in the last year, he still made it to the semi finals and finals of all events he sailed and reached his career best world ranking of No.32 in May last year.

He Has the Belief This Year More so Than Last Year
At some points last year, Mahesh seemed doubtful and unsure of his position. This year, he has started off strong and will look to finish it off the same way.
